I have a black belt in Karate, a spinning wheel, and a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies/ Arabic. I first showed talent for telling stories in Kindergarten when I used to tell my teacher elaborate, made-up stories about people dying and becoming an orphan, some of which got me into trouble. My first written story that I can remember was The Dark Crystal fan fiction, which prompted a concerned phone call home from my 2nd-grade teacher (she hadn’t seen the movie).
It wasn’t until I grew up, got a rejection letter from the CIA, and had a few kids that I realized I was allowed to take myself seriously as a writer. So now here we are.
I’ve been all over the world, including multiple Middle Eastern countries, but currently make my home in the Intermountain West.
